In a turn of events that would make Orwell blush and your high school math teacher weep, President Trump has fired the head of the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), Erika McEntarfer, because the latest jobs report didn’t flatter him enough. According to Trump, the report—which showed weaker-than-expected job growth—was not simply bad news, but part of a deep-state conspiracy “CONCOCTED” to tarnish what he called “a great Republican success.”
